About the artist
Tameem Safi is an Afghani Canadian artist currently living in Winnipeg. In his youth, the mountains of Afghanistan inspired Tameem to pick up a brush and start painting landscapes starting at the age of eight. Later in life, Tameem achieved professional level as a nature photographer. These influences directed Tameem along his artistic path until a few years ago when he discovered his love of strong, bold colours and movement with abstracts. Tameem has used a lifetime of skills from various disciplines to enhance his abstracts with a unique perspective grounded in realism.
